There are four membership categories. You may join as a Provisional, Senior, Student or Full member. You must be SSA members regardless of type membership. If you are not a SSA member, don't worry as membership in the SSA is included in the price. The club also offers reciprocal memberships for people who are currently full members in another soaring club.
Provisional Members - $250. Provisional membership is good for 90 days.
For provisional and reciprocal members the published rates apply for aircraft usage and dual instruction. As provisional membership is intended as a “try before you buy” arrangement, provisional members may not solo.
Student Member - $500. If you are between 15 and 18 years of age or enrolled in a accredited university, you may qualify as a student member. Student members get the same benefits as full members. After the 1st year student membership convert to full memberships.
Senior Member - $500. If you are 70 years of age or older and in good health, you qualify as a senior member.. Senior members get the same benefits as full members.
Full Member - $1000. Join the Club as a full time member and instruction and rentals are free excluding the normal tow fees same as outlined above. Membership and benefits are good for 12 months from date of membership.
All members must sign a membership document in which you state that you have no known medical problems that would make it unsafe for you to operate a sailplane. A FAA medical is not required.
